Mike's Story
While I believe there are truly difficult lives out there, I’m relentlessly striving to improve mine and support my family. Since puberty, I've battled with a severely curved and painful spine, a condition known as scoliosis. It causes constant discomfort and makes sleeping through the night a rare luxury.
Compounding this, I suffer from Dentinogenesis Imperfecta, a genetic disorder that affects tooth development. My teeth are discolored, weak, and prone to breakage, which makes me genuinely afraid to smile at anyone. Eating is often a painful chore, not a pleasure.
Furthermore, my foot has been unusually wide since childhood. This isn't just an inconvenience; it means I can only wear custom-made shoes to avoid debilitating pain even during a simple walk to the store. Simple mobility is a daily challenge.
During COVID-19, this situation was much worse for me and slightly worsened my mental state.
It sounds tragically ironic, doesn't it? I live in the heart of Central Europe, in a beautiful country full of forests and amazing nature. I work hard as a tour guide in our green region and also handle customer support for several online shops. For the past two years, I’ve been slowly but painstakingly putting my life back together. It's an incredibly hard medical journey.

There are many fundamental things I desperately want to change, and I need to start with myself: my primary goals are specific life-changing surgeries: jaw surgery so I can finally eat without chronic pain again, custom foot reconstruction so I can walk and stand without suffering, and spinal fusion surgery to correct my scoliosis so I can sleep soundly through the night.
